Similac Total Comfort vs Alimentum: Which is Safe For Your Baby?
Here is my Similac Total Comfort vs Alimentum comparison. In each case, I will look at the ingredient in each formula and its availability. One way your little one will tell you they feel discomfort is through crying or at times your baby becomes fussier. The formula you feed your baby could cause discomfort. The formula may contain ingredients that could cause stomach upset to your toddler.
Most of the times I see new moms find it hard to choose between baby formulas, especially when the formulas are by the same brand. In my previous article, I detailed compared guide between Huggies snug & dry versus Huggies Snugglers diapers and I’m glad I’ve helped moms decide on which the best despite the diapers being almost identical.
While Alimentum and Total Comfort are formulas from the same manufacturer, the difference in their ingredient composition could be the thin line between a fussy baby and “total comfort” baby. Let have a look at the comparison.
Similac Total Comfort vs Alimentum Comparison
In this context- (don’t quote me wrong please), there are two types of babies-# the normal baby and the allergic baby. (Like I said, don’t quote me wrong – I want to make sure you get this comparison right.
Because of these two classes- manufacturers are forced to create products that would suit both and so it’s the case for Similac total comfort and Alimentum formula.
Similac Alimentum baby formula: is a hypoallergenic and highly nutritious formula. It’s designed for infants with food allergies/protein sensitivity and colic. The formula comprises of predigested milk protein that has been broken down to eliminate allergic reactions to babies who are allergic to cow milk protein.

About Similac Total Comfort
Similac Total Comfort is designed for babies with persistent feeding issue or delicate tummies. Other infant formulas could make your little one experience discomfort because of the GMO ingredients they contain.
Besides the non-GMO ingredients, this formula also contains OptiGro, proprietary nutrition designed by Similac to help your little one grow healthy. The baby formula is available in powder form only.
Because Similac Total Comfort is designed to be gentler on your baby’s tummy, it doesn’t use regular milk in its ingredients. Instead, milk is replaced by Whey Protein Hydrolysis obtained from milk.
The milk is obtained from an organic cow that are never fed GMO food such as soy or corn. Whey protein hydrolysate means that the proteins have undergone hydrolysis and broken down into smaller pieces for easy digestion.
